WASHINGTON COUNTY 4-H GOLD STAR SCHOLARSHIP
The Gold Star Award is the highest county achievement award and intended to be received only once in a member’s 4-H career. The number of 4-H Gold Stars given is determined by the Texas 4-H Office. Counties have award quotas based on the number of senior 4-H members. The award will be presented to the most deserving young people without regard to gender.
Gold Star recipients will receive a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Washington County 4-H Parent Association.

WASHINGTON COUNTY 4-H FAIR QUEEN SCHOLARSHIP
According to fair rules, Washington County 4-H may have up to two queen candidates as long as our total enrollment is 300 members or more. Interested candidates should consult the Washington County Fair queen candidate guidelines available from the Fair Office to make sure they meet all of the qualifications. Active 4-H members who wish to be considered as a candidate for Washington County Fair Queen should let their 4-H Club Manager know during their March 4-H Club meeting.
TEXAS 4-H OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Texas 4-H Youth Development Program Opportunity Scholarships are ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS awarded each year to applicants based on their academic record, 4-H experience, and financial need (for scholarships for which it is a required criterion). The Texas 4-H Youth Development Opportunity Scholarship Program is conducted by the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation.
There is a scholarship category for most everyone, including:
- Baccalaureate Scholarship: For students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited Texas College or University.
- Technical Scholarship: For students who wish to pursue technical certification in a recognized and approved major/course of study.
- Courageous Heart Scholarship: Scholarships awarded to Texas 4-H members pursuing either a Baccalaureate or Technical degree that have overcome extreme obstacles related to medical, family, and/or education and remained an active member in both 4-H and school.
- Collegiate Scholarships: Designated for former Texas 4-H members who have been graduated from high school for at least one year (at time of awarding), and completed a minimum of 30 hours of college credit at a grade point average of at least 2.7. Some collegiate scholarships contain other award criteria.
IMPORTANT: The deadline to apply is February 15th at 11:59pm! NO EXCEPTIONS!! Do not wait until the last minute to work on this application – it will take more than just a few hours!

AgriLife Extension – Washington County Horticulture Committee Scholarship
The AgriLife Extension – Washington County Horticulture Committee Scholarship program was developed by Washington County Horticulture Committee Members in support of young people who have an interest and passion for agriculture. The scholarship will be awarded in 2023 to young people who graduate high school in May of 2023 and will begin their college or technical school program in the Fall of 2023.

2023 AgriLife Extension – Swine Committee Scholarship Guidelines & Application
WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR SCHOLARSHIP
The Mission of the Washington County Fair Association is to promote and encourage agriculture, horticulture and home economics through the exhibition of related products with a principal goal to support youth activities thru education and scholarship. Because of our mission, we offer an annual scholarship program. Each year, scholarships are awarded to exceptional local youth seeking a college education.

DR. O.D. BUTLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Dr. Butler was one of the original founders and Directors on the Board of the Brazos Area Hay Producers Association (BAHPA). He was known locally, nationally, and internationally for his numerous contributions to agriculture and his great desire to educate others.
The BAHPA honors Dr. Butler by awarding the “Dr. O.D. Butler Memorial Scholarship” annually in his name. This scholarship opportunity is open to all youth who reside in the eleven county areas of Brazos, Burleson, Falls, Grimes, Leon, Limestone, Madison, McLennan, Milam, Robertson and Washington Counties. The scholarship is available to any 4-H or FFA member regardless of their major in college.
Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2023.
2023 Dr. OD Butler Scholarship Application
BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE SCHOLARSHIPS
in 2023, Bluebonnet will award Scholarships of Excellence for academics/trade and technical to eligible graduating high school seniors.

TEXAS FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIPS
Texas Farm Bureau is committed to the development of youth and youth leadership.
Texas Farm Bureau devotes a large amount of resources towards youth programs and scholarships. Annually they award over $200,000 in scholarships in a variety of packages designed to meet different student needs. This includes various youth leadership organizations and students participating in our Free Enterprise Speech Contest.
The 2023 scholarship details will be available in mid-January and applications will be due March 15.

STATE FAIR OF TEXAS SCHOLARSHIP
The Big Tex Scholarship Program has awarded college scholarships to more than 3,000 students for a total of more than $16.1 million. Eligible recipients include graduating high school seniors around the state of Texas who have participated in competitive youth livestock events held at the State Fair, graduating seniors from six Dallas Independent School District high schools in the Fair Park area, and seasonal employees of the State Fair of Texas or their dependents.
