Non-Commercial/Commercial Applicator Training
Washington County Expo Sales Facility
August 18, 2021
Pest management is a technical pursuit. It requires the control of insects and other arthropods, vertebrate pests and undesirable plants. It requires education, training and experience in order to accomplish this control in an effective, economically sound, and environmentally safe manner. In Texas, licensing and certification to accomplish this work requires education and training. The pest management specialist or professional must also pass exam(s) administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
Commercial and non-commercial applicators apply pesticides for a variety of pests in a wide range of locations. Examples of licensing categories available from the TDA include: Vegetation Management, Field Crop Pest Control, Nursery Plant Production, Public Health Pest Control, Pasture and Rangeland Pest Control, and Seed Treatments.
Anyone interested in receiving training in preparation for the TDA Commercial/Non-Commercial General Standards, Vegetation Management, and Landscape Maintenance categories is encouraged to registration for the training being held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 8:00am-5:00pm at the Washington County Expo Sales Facility in Brenham. This course will prepare attendees for both exams required by TDA for the landscape maintenance and/or vegetation management license.
To register please visit https://washington.agrilife.org/pesticide or contact the Washington County Extension Office at (979) 277-6212. The fee for the course is $180 for one category or $200 for two categories and will include 3 manuals.
