South Central Texas Ag Conference (5 CEUs)

August 11, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

2022 South Central Texas Ag Conference Flyer and Map

Pull out those yellow cards and take a second glance at the expiration date!  Renewal time for pesticide applicators is quickly approaching and it’s time to get those last minute continuing education units collected before it’s too late.  Private pesticide applicators are required to have 15 hours of Continuing Educations Units every 5 years to renew their Texas Department of Agriculture issued license.  Of the fifteen required hours two must be in Integrated Pest Management, two in Laws and Regulations, and the remaining can be in any combination of General, Integrated Pest Management, or Laws and Regulations.

If you are looking for hours mark your calendar for Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Washington County Expo in Brenham.  The AgriLife Extension Offices of Grimes, Lee, Waller, and Washington Counties are excited to host the first in a series of Ag Conferences that will feature timely topics for landowners, continuing education units for pesticide applicators, and the opportunity to network with landowners and producers in the South Central Texas area.

The South Central Texas Ag Conference will kick-off in the Washington County Expo – Event Center with registration at 8:30am, will include a catered lunch, and should conclude mid-afternoon.  The topics on the program are sure to be of interest to both large and small landowners.  The day will include presentations from experts in the field of livestock production, agricultural law, soils and nutrient management, feral hog control, and native grassland management.  In addition to the exceptional educational presentations, we will provide a feral hog trap demonstration as part of the program.  Registration is $45/person before August 22nd or $65/person at the event.  Five continuing education credits (5 CEUs; 3 Integrated Pest Management, 1 Laws and Regulations, 1 General) will be offered for all applicators who attend for the entirety of the program.

For more information, please contact your local Extension Office in Grimes County (Kyla Moeller; 936-873-3907), Lee County (Geri Kline; 979-542-2753), Waller County (Candace Moeller, 979-826-7651) or Washington County (Kara Matheney, 979-277-6212).  To pre-register, please visit https://washington.agrilife.org/ag/ceuconference/
