The Gideon Lincecum Chapter announces its Chapter meeting and Advanced Training Program on Saturday May 19th, 2018 at the New Ulm Lion’s Club Center, 1722 FM 109, New Ulm, Texas 78950. The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and the training will begin at 10:45. This is free and open to the public. Bring your own snacks.
Chapter member Donna Mueller will present ‘Bite Me or Leave Me Bee’, an educational program designed to create an awareness of dangers in nature. Topics such as protozoan infections and venomous fauna will be discussed.
Next, Kathryn Hokamp, Butterfly Entomologist, Cockerell Butterfly Center, Houston Museum of Science will present information on the Texas Butterfly Monitoring program. Kathryn will explain how you can become a part of this interesting citizen science program that records and assesses the movement of butterflies throughout Texas.
